This post is actually a request for a recommendation.
I recently had a customer, Selena, ask if I could recommend a good book on Japanese fabrics. Sadly, I couldn't . I have learnt most of what I know about fabrics from growing up with a quilter as a mother, worked in arts workshops alongside a fabric artist and then have been learning the specifics about Japanese textiles while over here. Most of the books I have access to over here, I can't actually read ;)
If anyone can recommend a good reference book, it would be much appreciated.

'Textile Art of Japan' by Sunny Yang and Rochelle M. Narasin.
This is a small book but a very good intro to Japanese fabrics. It has a smattering of history and a good beginners guide to the major fabric techniques.
Thanks Frances!
