These Boots Were Made For Stitching

Today at the Brisbane Brown Owls meet was a stitching type of day. I jumped at the chance to get started on a project I've had in mind for quite a while... to embroider a pair of boots.

For now, it's just a lone crane, but the plan is for a string of three on each leg.

And with the split-toe in these Japanese boots...

It's lucky that I have a collection of split-toe tabi socks to wear underneath.

My Creative Space

I'm continuing to work on some embroidered cranes.

I'm thinking of doing a few different types, ones that can be placed on a table (rather than hung) like this, single strands like the one above, and full mobiles similar to the one I made for a friend.

Promise Not To Look Too Closely?

Promise not to comment that my stitching could be neater?

Then I'll show you a little something I started working on today...

... hopefully I'll have it worked on further in the next few days....
