Stay Safe and Dry

37/365 - hello sunshine!, originally uploaded by orangesparrow.

It just didn't seem right tonight to blog about things I like and things I would like when so many have lost so much over the last couple of days.

We're safe, our home is up high, but so many others are not so lucky.

So tonight, may everyone, their families and their homes stay safe and dry over the next couple of days.

*For non-local readers, our area is being hit with what may be the worst flood in over 35 years.  There is a lot of damage already, and they believe the worst is to come.

Thank goodness. I knew you were in the region that would be affected by the floods and wondered if you were safe. It has been sad to watch the news, I've been a bit anxious too because my boy is on holiday over there with his girlfriend and her family and I wasn't exactly sure where they were, they left Brisbane and went to the gold coast which although it is raining is not flooding. His road trip buddy is still traveling about and is somewhere just out of Brisbane at the moment- in a flooded area but safe on a hill top, there was a bit of worry until we heard from him.
The images we are seeing on the news are incredible I can't begin to imagine what it would be like to witness the force of the water first hand.
