Getting a move on.... looking for a designer

I think it's time for me to move this blog soon. There are so many wonderful, kind comments that I want to reply to, but have trouble through Blogger. Think I will go to Typepad. Or, I could take the big leap and finally get my website together and have a blog page on it.... I'd really love anyone's thoughts or advice.

I'm also looking for a designer, someone that can do a fabulous blog/web design for me, an Etsy store design and a logo. Does anyone out there do that sort of work or have someone they'd recommend?

And I just thought I'd leave you today with a image I took at the "Fuji Flower" (Wisteria) festival that's happening at a temple up the road from me. Ahh.. spring is well and truly here!

Hey, I do all those things! I'm a nice friendly affordable web designer. I make Japanese inspired things too so I should get your style. Have a look at www.askingfortrouble.org and www.marcelinesmith.com and get in touch if you're interested.

Hi Melanie, I am a graphic designer and artist and would be interested in helping you with your design needs. My website is www.theredthread.com.au. The site is for my art, but it's an example of my design and style. You can contact me through the site if you wish, and I can email you samples of my design work.

I might bump into you at Design Festa in a few weeks - just kidding, there'll be over 50,000 people there! I'm heading to japan for some serious paper and fabric shopping, gallery hopping and sightseeing. I can't wait! Lisa

hi melanie,
I just changed my website to my own domain, and out of all the options I decided to go for one of those platforms that allow you to host your website with a very, very non-web-designer interface.

I did the design myself, but it is an option to have someone doing it for you, first time, and then just run it from there.

The thing is, it's really easy to add pages, diferent kind of pages and etc, without knowing anything about html or css.

about the blog. I kept it in blogger because it was fulfilling all my basic needs, but I see what you mean about the comments issue.

good luck! :)

I host wordpress on my own site, and I really like it. I adapted a theme to suit me and add little widgets when I need them. Comment handling is great. Partly I like the solution because I pay for the domain anyway, so I didn't want to pay for typepad too. I'm just careful with my pennies :)

Would love to do web design, but time (and a lack of tech know how) are holding me back somewhat. Sounds like you already have some eager helpers at hand. Will be interested to see the transformation.

Love the fuji flowers.

Love the wisteria. We are thinking of visiting Japan next year - we had better make it there in Spring!

Hi Alice

I just thought I'd leave a comment here in case you come back and have a look, I haven't been able to get a link to your site to have a look. What's your address?
