Winter

I've discovered something over the last couple of months. I really don't like winter. I hate being cold, it makes me so grumpy and all I want to do is hide under the covers and eat. What is it about the cold weather that makes you eat? For someone who doesn't like being cold, a Japanese school is really not the place you want to be! Mind you, I've probably bitched enough about that on My Life As A Gaijin.

I probably should explain, I grew up in warm sunny Queensland where winter is that short time of year I may have to wear a long sleeved t-shirt rather than a tank top and jeans become more comfortable. Maybe once a year, I'll get a chance to wear my leather jacket. Even then, when the mercury drops to the low 20s degrees celcius, I complain about it being too cold.

Finally this weekend, there seemed a point to the cold weather - snow! I love snow, at least for a few days. It makes everything so pretty and clean.

This is what my neighbour's place looked like a couple of days ago.

Now I've had my snow fix for the year, I'm ready for the warm weather again, bring on Spring!

Wow, this post is like you are reading my mind or something. I totally agree. I hate cold weather and it's twice as bad when it's grey, cloudy, rainy, windy.
And I also agree that seeing snow makes it all worthwhile but then on the other hand you are dying for warm weather again... :)

Yeah I do agree with you about the cold though we don't get any here in sunny Singapore! I'll only get to experience the winter when I go on a winter holiday and I'll hate the cold when I have to take a shower!!! And I've only seen snow once in LA which is like ten years ago!!!

By the way, I've tagged you. Check out the rules here: http://buttnakedbaby.blogspot.com/2008/02/ive-been-tagged.html

Hi shanghaiexpatlife, I imagine things are even colder over there!

Hi Jenny, please send warmth and I'll send some rain! I believe Queensland has been getting some recently.

Hi teesa, thanks for the tag, I'm going to try to get to that very soon! Ahh... sunny Singapore sounds wonderful right now....
