Shinzi Shopping

Before I left Japan, I did a spot of shopping, as you do. Not as much as I thought I would, and not as much as I would have like to have, but time and space was running out.

In the process I picked up a few Shinzi Katoh pieces...

A cute drinking bottle with kids shopping at the toy store

Another cute drinking bottle.... while I had already bought one, when I saw this Red Riding Hood one, I couldn't resist.

A Pinocchio plastic container set and cutlery set (for the baby).

On my birthday, early in March, I also splurged and bought myself this tea set.

Now I just have to wait patiently for everything to arrive as it's coming by sea. In the meantime, we're mostly eating off our picnic set.

The Hum of the Machine

I just love the sound of my sewing machine. There's something so relaxing about it. I have to admit though, I haven't heard it for a while. But tonight, it's out and playing again. I hope to have some results to show soon....

I also ducked out to the craft shop tonight. Very exciting - there are some new Shinzi Katoh prints! AND, they are Christmas releases. I picked up two, an Alice in Wonderland and a Little Red Riding Hood. I'm particularly excited about the Red Riding Hood, I haven't been able to get my hands on any of her for ages. I hope to photograph them properly and have them in the store tomorrow. Here's a sneak peek....

Well, I'm back to my sewing!

Shinzi Katoh Shopping

I'm now into day three in Tokyo. I've been wanting to blog but was having internet connection issues. Fingers crossed they're fixed now. I'm about to dash off to Nippori Textile town but thought I'd leave you with some Shinzi Katoh eye candy. The shop (or actually shops, it's divided into two areas) is small but full of sweetness. I think the only thing that saved my credit card was that there were too many things I wanted so I couldn't decide and that I was so tired by the time I got there.

I'm a real sucker for an Alice in Wonderland design.

...or a Red Riding Hood design for that matter....

I think I'm going to go back there either tonight or tomorrow and pick myself up a tea set. Imagine having a tea party pouring tea from an Alice tea pot and drinking from Alice cups placed on Alice saucers. Then of course, I thought the Alice plate would look adorable with little cup cakes with pink icing and those little silver ball things. It would all have to be laid out on a table in the garden with a red gingham tablecloth of course. Anyone want to join me?
