Flickr Faves on a Friday - Overdue

** I should have made it clear that this isn't a photo of me, or by me, but instead one I found on Flickr that I loved and really said it all at the time **

Dear Baby

Dear Baby

I've loved having you in my belly for the last nine months, right from the first moment I suspected you were in there. It's been truly amazing feeling you grow, feeling my body change to help you grow and then feeling you move for the first time. The first time we got to see you move on the ultrasound I cried and daddy skipped in the car park (when you meet him, you'll realise what a funny sight that was). As you've become bigger and stronger, I've loved knowing when you were awake and asleep, the way you've reacted to my voice, my laughs and cries. You've made me smile the way the way you'll push my arm off if I lean it on my belly - on "your space" for too long, the way you appear to dance to my silly singing when we're in the bath. The day I found out you were a girl I cried, cried because I was so happy. I would have been just as happy if you were a boy, but I loved feeling closer to you, knowing more about you.

But now you're all grown up and it's time to come out. I can feel that you're getting cramped and having trouble finding space for your growing limbs. If you come out, you'll have so much more room to move and grow! I know it's warm and cosy in there, but I promise to keep you warm and safe when you come out into the world. In there you can hear my voice and my heartbeat, but when you come out, I'll keep you close so you'll hear them out here too.

The world out here is exciting. There are so many different things to see, touch, smell, taste and hear. I can't wait to help you explore this world and for you to find your own special place in it. Your daddy and I are very excited about meeting you, seeing what you look like, watching your personality develop, wondering what things you'll like and dislike.

I've loved having you in my belly, but now, I can't wait to have you in my arms. Baby please come out soon.

Watcha Wearing Wednesday

I don't normally join in Watcha Wearing, because well, no-one really wants to see the tracksuit pants/pjs that I usually am wearing around the house.

Today however, I was off to the city for a doctor's appointment and thought it might be time for a new belly shot.

Today's outfit, a tunic and some cords.

... but really it's the belly you want to see isn't it...

Getting big now! I'm 37 and a half weeks and think that I'm running out of room to grow.

Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice

We're having a little girl! Sorry to those who wanted me to keep the news a surprise, but really, I'm way to excited and know I would blurt it out sooner or later anyway. Even though I'd be just as excited if we were having a little boy, I can now plan pretty little clothes, pretty little toys and future tea parties.

The toy in the photo is the one I bought the day I got the news. I thought I'd use it to break the news to DH as he couldn't attend the scan that day. Funnily enough, he didn't get the pink hint, so I had to tell him directly. He's very excited, but has made it clear that she will still be learning martial arts ("She'll know how to throw a good punch by the age of three") and he'll still play with trucks with her. All good by me! I know that our little girl is going to have her daddy wrapped around her little finger.

And, finally a normal belly shot. I'm rather camera shy so there are few photos of my belly growth. This is me today, at 30 weeks.

I can't believe it's only about ten weeks before I get to meet my little girl.

We're having a little....

We found out the sex of my big baby bump today. Should I tell you? Or should I keep it a surprise? What do you think?

Another Half Off

So much to blog about, but sadly, much more to pack. We're in a packing frenzy here with the movers arriving in less that a week and me discovering that packing up a house while pregnant is a bit harder that I expected. Honestly, I thought it would be easier, not having to lift anything heavy, but it seems this pregnant body doesn't like all the getting up and down.

I'm going to finally close my stores on Monday night or Tuesday morning-ish. So, if you'd like anything before then, as one of my wonderful blog readers, take another 50% off the marked price (not the postage though sorry, but my usual postage discounts do apply). Let me know either on the Etsy sale or via eBay messages that you've read this post. If you're buying through the Etsy store or a bit from both Etsy and my eBay store, let me know your Paypal email address and I can send you a new invoice through there.

I still have fabrics that I never got to list, so some will be going into my personal stash and I'll send a bunch to Re-stash a Crafter that I found out through Handmaiden.

See you! I'm back to packing!

Belated Christmas Wishes and Early News for the New Year

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! I'm quite late in my greetings, but I'm afraid it's the way things have gone this year. None of the cards got written let alone sent. Presents are still to be wrapped and I never finished decorating the tree. Dh and I had a very quiet Christmas at home. We drove two towns over where we knew we could buy a roast chicken and Wayne managed to coax our sad little oven into roasting some very yummy vegetables. I made chocolate balls and Wayne ordered a Japanese Christmas cake, which is really a strawberry shortcake. We snuggled in to avoid the freezing weather outside and watched a few Christmas DVDs. It was lovely, but I am really looking forward to spending it with family and friends next year.

So, onto the news..... well, I wasn't the best at keeping it totally secret, but you can pretend to be surprised if you like...

I'm going to have one of these!

That's right, I'm pregnant! I'm with child. I'm knocked up, up the duff. I've got a bun in the oven. I'm in a family way. I'm "carrying developing offspring within the body". I'm expecting. I'm gestating. I'm preggers. I'm prenatal.

I'm also over the moon and very excited.

I'm now 3 months along. I had an ultrasound yesterday and the baby is growing well. Dh has nicknamed the baby "Skippy" as it has been an active little tyke during the scans. Morning or rather all-the-darn-day-and-night-long sickness is still hanging around but I'm hoping that will ease off soon. I'm still very tired, but as I'm on holidays, it's been a perfect excuse to stay snuggled in bed on these cold days. I can't tell you just how many breakfasts, lunches and dinners in bed dh has brought me. He's such a lovely boy and is very excited by it all as well.
I hope everyone is having as blessed a holiday season as we are!
