Sigg Designs and Cafe Press

Nowadays, I try to carry a bottle of water with me most places I go. It saves having to buy plastic bottle after plastic bottle everytime I get thirsty. I have two Shinzi Katoh bottles that I love, but I thought it would be nice to have a more manly one for DH.

Cafe Press now have Sigg bottles. If you're new to Cafe Press, you can either upload your own design, buy a design from a store, or open your own store to sell to others.

I've had my own Cafe Press store for a few years now, but have to confess, I haven't done much with it. I occasionally get a spurt of enthusiasm and tidy it up a little, and add new designs and products. It does seriously need some time put in it if I wanted to make decent dollars from it.

It's a site where you can upload designs and images and put them on products of your choosing, products such as t-shirts, clocks, bags, cards, magnets and now Sigg bottles. You then choose your markup and when someone purchases one of your designs, you get paid that markup, like you would a royalty. I think if you're a talented designer and regularly promote your store, I imagine you could make some nice pocket money, maybe an income, I'm not sure.

For me, I've enjoyed getting a few extra dollars here and there. I've never had a payout, but instead have used that credit to buy from my own store when they have their periodical 20% Storekeeper sales. For now, I hope DH will like his new Sigg bottle.

I've just put a few new designs in the store and of course, there are always my older popular designs to choose from as well. They are printed onto a variety of products; bags, shirts, cards and blank journal.

I'm starting to work on a range of designs taken from or influenced by vintage kimono fabric, as you can see by the kimono blossoms tote bag (the design is also available on different products) and the kimono fabric journal.

Some New Designs

To be totally honest, there are so many things I should be doing right now, but thought I'd pop in a do a quick post regardless.

Let's see.... I should be; making a bag for a friend whose birthday it is today (I'm not seeing her until Saturday), making some more bags to sell, photographing some more stock for eBay, photoshopping images from Vietnam, Cambodia and recent ones taken in Japan, adding my lost links into this blog, working on the look for my other blog, uploading some images to Flickr, photographing my new swing tags, invoicing card clients, making lunch, cleaning the kitchen... just to name a few.

Instead of doing any of those, this morning I've been playing with some new designs for my Café Press Store. I have to confess, I've been really neglectful of my Cafe Press store of late, it really needed some new life to it. These two images are from my new Origami range. What do you think?
