About six months before my wedding, I decided that I really wanted to join a gym. I'm not usually a fan of gyms, but I wanted to do some weights and classes to lose a few kilos for the big day.
I spent a day being shown around a number of establishments. There was one in particular that was really nice. It had new equipment, a large pool, nice bathrooms, a good class schedule and they even provided the clients with towels. The only problem, it was expensive. I didn't like any of the other gyms in my area, they were old and grungy which I knew wouldn't help my motivation.
While I was sitting at my computer, looking at my budget, an email arrived. I had won money from a Paypal promotion. Exactly the amount that the gym fees were going to cost me for the six months I was planning to join. How perfect was that! I took it as a sign and joined the next day.
For the last few weeks, I've been really stressing about the cost of going to see a doctor in Tokyo. I know going to see her is the right thing to do, but it will cost a couple of hundred for the train and another couple of hundred for the hotel (I'll need to be there for a few days).
Just now, I got an email from my sister to say that I've received a nice payout from my Australian health insurance provider because of a merger. The money will cover my costs to go to Tokyo.
How's that for a sign?
