Well today's isn't real pretty, but I'm hoping I'll get better at this....
Today I began my "Wish a Day" project. I plan to write a wish for my daughter, our family or the world around us each day on a piece of paper which I'll then fold into a paper crane/s and put into a jar for safekeeping. I plan to do this each day for a year, and over that year fold 1000 cranes so that there is a wish for my daughter to make herself when she chooses.
Today's wish: May you live a long and happy life with each year being one to truly celebrate.Today's paper: A piece of wrapping paper from her recent first birthday.

I'm quite nervous about starting out at this, nervous that I won't make the distance, nervous that I'll run out of things to say. At the same time, I am excited about the idea of getting into a creative habit, a little bit each day.

I can understand the nervous - there's a lot of heart and soul waiting to be saved into many, many jars. I reckon you'll do just fine.

That's a lovely idea, but ..
1. We'll have to start saving jars (one jar per crane?)
2. Where are you going to put them? I don't remember much spare space in your workroom
3. Mathematics - at school, you should have spent more time on Maths than Art - one crane per day for a year = 1000 ???

what a fabulous idea, and the what a great way to kick off it off, the crane from the birthday paper is such a special touch
Haha, trust your Dad to be the one asking all the practical questions and telling you you can't add up! Kinda squashes the creative urge doesn't it?
It's a beautiful thing to do and if it gets too difficult to do every day, then once a week would probably be OK.
If you run out of wishes, then ways you are blessed is nice too.

I love your idea. So awesome. Such a fabulous way to remember each day with a 'wish'. What a gift for your daughter down the track. How awesome to have a record of your mum's wishes. What a fabulous way to record a year of your life. So spectacularly sentimental. Oh I can't wait to see your future cranes. I totally understand your nervousness, but we all have to aim for something. This is too fantastic an idea not to give it a go. You are SO Living the Kre8ive Life.
