Boutique - Blogtoberfest Day 12

I've just had a busy market-filled weekend. Saturday, a very blustery, dusty day saw me at the Milton State School fair. Sitting next to the cake stall, yummy homemade coconut ice and fudge powered me through the day. I also lucky to be visited by this lovely and generous lady.

Then early on Sunday morning I set up for my first time at the Boutique Markets. I love how professional the markets look there. The marquees were crisp and with curtains up on three sides, it was a chance to really get the feel we wanted for our stall. While it's still a work in progress, I'd like to think that the space I shared with my cousin Danielle felt like a tiny slice of Japan. Dan's work is on the left, mine on the right.

Here's a closer look at my table. Any guess at to what my favourite colours might be?

A piece, a preserved butterfly, from my new shadow box range.

Danielle's pendant tree with her gorgeous ceramic work. A funky little owl ring of hers made it home with me after the weekend.

There are so many talented people at the Boutique Markets, too many to mention in one blog post.

Another first-timer at Boutique was Alice from Little Red Fox. She and I met for the first time last month at the Young Designers Market. She also works in fabric and glass but her fabulous pieces have a different feel to mine.

See some of her lovelies...

One of our next-door neighbours for the day was Christine from Little Diva. The colours in her space were so scrumptious and her ring display adorable!

A couple of these sweeties made it home with me as well.

During the day I also got to meet the talented ladies from Cute as Buttons and Red Reed Studio as well as catch up with the lovely Nicole from Hot Toffee and Kim from Udessi. A really good day I must say. Fingers crossed I get a spot in next month's market.

After such a big weekend, today was spent catching up on cuddles with my little one. The housework, I decided, can wait until tomorrow.

Otsukare sama! You're right that housework can wait - mothing is more important than cuddles with your daughter! My mum used to say "always time for a hug!"
