Slowing Down and Kimono Colours

At the time of year when I feel I should be, I need to be, speeding things up, my body is forcing me to slow down. Everything is OK and it will pass with time and then I'll be back on my feet.

As a result, I've stopped listing eBay actions for the moment. Getting parcels packed and off to the post office of an evening after a full day of work is more than I can manage right now and I hate to have anything less than fabulous service in my stores. So I've stripped it down to just Etsy for a while.

One thing I did get done today was to photograph some kimonos for a wholesale client of mine. I just loved the colours, they really brightened my day.

I'm off to Tokyo again tomorrow. I know that sounds exciting, but to be honest, I don't really want to go. I'm hoping this will be the last time I will have to make that trip to see my specialist. I only have four months until I move back to Australia so would like to have medication and stuff sorted for the rest of my stay, or for her to give my regular doctor instructions of how to manage my thyroid.

I am though, determined to conjure up some energy to do a spot of fabric and Christmas shopping while I'm there. I want to go to Nippori Textile Town, to Kincado (I'll be staying in that part of town) and off to a couple of bookshops (one, a full floor of craft books!), maybe an electronics store, maybe a department store, and hopefully to a place I saw a gorgeous present for my new niece that I regret not picking up last time.

While a bit frustrated at not feeling so well, I have also being enjoying some aspects of taking life at a slower pace for a while. Wayne and I had a picnic lunch yesterday and a lovely wander in the park, something we haven't done since... well actually I can't remember. There have been lots of early nights, perfect in this weather with lots of lovely cuddles from dh. If I don't watch out.... I could get used to this!

nothing wrong with having some relaxing time in life.... now, if you could just figure out a way not to feel guilty about it....lol....

Enjoy yourself! how great to have picnics and simple fun times with your sweetie!life is speeding past...don't miss out on all the special moments because you are too busy... .. remember, we can't go back and say..." I wish I had"....

Isn't is amazing how so many different colours look so pretty together? ... even colours that we in the Western world usually insist don't go together.... obviously, we know nothing....

Wishing you a safe and enjoyable trip to Tokyo. Love your latest range of kimonos. With only 4 months until you come home - no doubt the time will fly by. Glad to see you are taking time to savour the last months in Japan. Take care.

Man...Christmas shopping in Japan..THAT would be fun! :p

LOVE the colors of the kimonos...my tiny stash of kimono fabric is going down, and I can't bulk it back up right now, and I am PANICKING, lol.

You go on, take it easy. Your health is worth way more than a few eBay sales. :)

I hope you can get everything sorted with your specialist. It's such a pain to be chasing around after doctors and specialists all the time!
Have a wonderful shopping spree in Tokyo...love those photos.

love the kimono fabrics! Where do you find them - at a regular craft shop? Also, what is the book shop in Tokyo with "a full floor of craft books"? (although I live in Japan, I don`t get to go to Tokyo often, but that sounds like a wonderful reason to go! lol)

I wouldn't worry about the doctors here not being on top of it all right away Melanie. If you have your paper with the original blood results which show the deficiency or level of T4 and TSH in your blood they will likely do a test to recheck it anyway. Has any of your relatives been able to make an appointment ahead for you with an endocrinologist?

Take it easy and rest and do what you enjoy as you have so little time there!

Gorgeous fabrics! I have problems with my thyroid too (Hashimotos disease- it sounds like I have a hunch back!) and it's not much fun sometimes. The worst of it is that you always need to check the thyroid function regularly to check the dosage is still correct. I find that I get fatigued and a bit blue and it is the tyroid so I can empathise with you totally! Although when the dose was put up I felt much better. Take care and good luck with it all.
