This is... what gives me goosebumps

Japanese ghosts.
It's strange, but elsewhere in the world, the thought of ghosts don't bother me. But maybe I've watched Ring and Grudge too many times, because the idea of Japanese ghosts just freak me out. When we go to bed, I have to make sure that the closet is closed properly, my husband and I always say, "We can't let the ghosties out".
Thanks to Juddie for this week's This is… theme hosted by the fabulous Angela.

Your picture is really scary! The Ring really freaked me out. Whenever I watch movies like that I get scared getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom! (esp back in the day when I was living by myself)

Ooooh that is scary....I don't watch any scary movies at all or I have nightmares.

Well your photo just gave me goosebumps!

I'd give my place a real good smudging if I lived there.

That image alone scares me...it's truly freaky..having watched some late night random Japanese 'scary' movies on SBS..that weren't The grudge and The Ring..The Japanese film makers who specialise in this genre take the prize for goosebumps and messing with my mind award! Good call Melanie..now I'm going to go and shut my wardrobe doors!!!

Gosh, your photo gave me a fright! I try to avoid scary movies as I have an over active imagination and since I am usually the last person in the house to go to bed, that is not a good thing.

Many many things from Japan creep me out so I'm glad I don't know about the ghosts.

Glad to hear you are on the road to wellness too. That must feel like the sun has come out again.

Those Tanabata dolls are fascinating, but veering towards the subject of your This is ... post for me.

Yikes! That photo is enough to give me the goosebumps too!

I also close my cupboard doors before going to bed at night... Even if they are open just a crack it's too much!
Glad to hear you are feeling better. Take care of yourself and remember to rest when you can.

I hate ghosts, period. Japanese or not. And I swear we have a poltergeist hanging around my house.

That IS a particularly creepy picture, though, lol.

Is that image from Bhuto dancing? I'd be scared of her in the dark for sure!

I totally believe in ghosts - which is why I refuse to watch most horror flicks :)

Ok, the Grudge freaked me out so much that I had to scroll down so that your picture was off my screen. I'm right there with you about the Japanese ghosts! The US version of The Ring didn't freak me out but Ringu (Japanese version) Holy cow!!! she was way freakier!
This weekend we went to view a house that had a closet that looked a whole lot like the one in the Grudge. Needless to say, that is not one of the houses we're considering!!

Yeah I agree that most of the Japanese ghost movies are way too freaky. I totally believe in their existence (as I've experienced it first hand!!!) Therefore I make sure I have my amulets with me all the time!!! I also think the Korean ghost films can rival the Japanese!!! They are equally disturbing! Ahhhhh!!!

Wow - great image!! They perfect scary, don't they? I loved the Ring for just how terrifyingly goosebumpy it was, and the Grudge was a little creepy - I felt better that 'Buffy' was in it for some reason (expecting her to slay something perhaps).

I just saw your note on Maureen's blog about doing some posts on Photoshop... oooh, I'd be so interested in checking some of those out. Where to start is a brilliant and perplexing question. You could start anywhere - with some favourite techniques and just label them with 'Easy', 'Intermediate' or 'Advanced' so you don't have to start from the very beginning. Just a thought....
