Quilting

I had trouble thinking of where to start with the kimono re-make ideas. I grew up with quilting, as my mum is a quilter, so I thought this was a good place to start.

Kimono fabrics lend themselves well to quilting due to the richness of their colours and their repetitive motifs. The quilt above has used the crane motif which is common in Japanese culture.

The crane is a symbol of good luck, longevity as well as a successful marriage.
