Yes yes yes! When I look at the old school architecture I'm taken back to a time when functionality AND beauty were both as important as each other. And it rocks! So great to see these manhole covers amongst the grey concrete :)

I love Japanese manhole covers! I take pictures of them whenever I travel. There is a full-colour book of them published in English that I saw once...

Lovely! I had a great time in Fukuoka doing rubbings of the covers, none as interesting as that though. I think my son's in-laws thought I was nuts.
