These Boots Were Made For Stitching

Today at the Brisbane Brown Owls meet was a stitching type of day. I jumped at the chance to get started on a project I've had in mind for quite a while... to embroider a pair of boots.

For now, it's just a lone crane, but the plan is for a string of three on each leg.

And with the split-toe in these Japanese boots...

It's lucky that I have a collection of split-toe tabi socks to wear underneath.

  1. Are these really boots??! They are cool! What do they use them for? I thought it was pretty cold and wet in Japan, but maybe I´m wrong. Is it an old type of boot, or a new "invention"? They rock, no matter. And the embroidery fits perfectly.

  2. You realise you are going to set a trend. Embroidered boots - brilliant. And I'm glad you mentioned that they were socks you were wearing in that last shot. I thought you had tattooed your feet!

Thank you for taking time to comment, I treasure each and everyone one of them. I always reply to them in my head, but must confess, these days it takes me much longer to actually email that reply.
