Sorting fabrics for the baby quilt today. Mum and I are still debating about the background colour, she's wanting to do it in a lime green, but I'd really like an azure blue-ish colour, inspired by the colours of this gorgeous doll by Ravenhill. What do you think?
Between the green and the blue, I would say blue too. But I am going to go against the grain and say white or off white would set off those lovely pinks and red well.
I have done a quilt which uses lots of red and pink and the sashing was white.
I know you have seen it before, but here's the quilt if you want to check it out. http://littlemunchkins.blogspot.com/2009/05/my-first-quilt.html
I think blue too...it will set off the pinks and reds spectacularly. Look forward to seeing the quilt, and it seems you have a few other lovely projects for a little one on your mind :) So nice to hear you're enjoying your pregnancy.
mmm... I'm a green fan so I'd normally go for the lime green, but it looks like there were more blues in your photo and so the blue might pick that up nicely...
The pink and blue would definitely be cute, but since I am a die-hard green fan, and less a fan of blue, I am, of course going to land on the side of the green. :p
Wow!! Are you doing the crane quilt? That is going to be so amazing. I do agree, a blue that would pick up the blues in the other fabrics would look very stylish.
I love the blue too. Those fabrics are sensational, what ever you put with it will produce a special kind of magic!! Good luck I would love to see the result.
Thank you for taking time to comment, I treasure each and everyone one of them. I always reply to them in my head, but must confess, these days it takes me much longer to actually email that reply.
Melanie, this will be fabulous.....and you are still here!
ReplyDeleteThe Ravenhill doll is a definite cutie. I also really like the pink and red fabrics all mixed up together.
ReplyDeleteI think blue would look great with all those reds. Green might make it look Christmassy.
ReplyDeleteI vote for the blue.
ReplyDeleteYour fabric selections are wonderful.
Oh yes, that blue would look just perfect (sorry to mum!) That's going to be a gorgeous quilt! :) K

ReplyDeleteGreat fabrics! I think I'd go with blue.
ReplyDeleteI like the green - and that fabric photo looks awesome in the larger version!
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric. I too would go with the blue - maybe the green will just have to be for another quilt! x
ReplyDeleteI think whatever you choose it's going to look great with those fabrics! You can't go wrong :)

ReplyDeleteI have to say blue as well. I've been seeing lime green everywhere, and while I love it, I think the blue would be better.
ReplyDeleteThe blue would look gorgeous with the red. But I have a soft spot for aquas and greens together so that is true fence sitting style.

ReplyDeleteI am sure whatever you decided on will look wonderful-the blue or the lime green-I am sure it will be very special
ReplyDeleteI love your fabric.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to look beautiful! (with blue or green!) :-)
ReplyDeleteI love lime green, but I'm especially partial to the combo of the red with the blue!!
